Biography 

Jason Mace is a British Author and award-winning managing director with a portfolio of successful companies. Mace is a very well-respected public figure and influential businessman with interests in the event industry, media, bar and restaurants, commercial property and technology. Known principally for establishing the company Gala Tent in 1999 which is the largest supplier of commercial marquees and gazebos in Europe. Mace created a multi-million international operation from a £2000 credit card investment loan, eventually revolutionising the event industry with design, innovation and patent technology.

Mace was recognised for his achievements in business winning the prestigious Entrepreneur of the Year Award at the Rotherham and Barnsley Chamber of Commerce Awards in 2011

Mace's story was featured in the Sunday Times "How I Made It" June 9th 2013. Later the same year a high demand for promotional printed products see the launch of Gala Graphics

​

Mace takes a paradigm shift in to Financial Technology after his own business fell victim to fraudsters. After spending time looking for existing systems to help reduce his company risk to telephone fraud, he realised there wasn't a suitable system available, so he invests in developing one. The system aims to tackle the mail order customer not present (CNP) £618m UK fraud and the UK's 1billion loss of business revenue. A successful development of the technology wins the prestigious Security Innovation of the Year Award at the 2014 UK IT Awards ceremony for the Secure Order Transfer software, the event took place 12th November at the Battersea Park Events Arena in London.

Mace has recently developed a passion for Motorsport launching Gala Performance teaming up with Mark Thompson, Christian England, Richard Dean and Zak Brown to win the 2016 and 2017 European Le Mans LMP3 Series with United Autosports.

In 2018 SOTpay wins a national contact centre award presented by UKCCF for best use of technology.

In 2019 Gala Technology is recognised for an international award presented by PCI London for a creative new approach to developing new technology for card not present transactions. And another award for Gala Technology when they win ‘Security Solution Of The Year March 2019 ExCeL, London. And in the same year also scoop the international award at the Card Not Present Award in the US.

July 17th 2019 sees the release of Mace's first book EVENT INDUSTRY BOSS: The Secret to Becoming Successful in the Event Industry. Using his own story as the blueprint from which to grow a £2,000 credit investment into a multi-million-pound international market-leader, Mace incorporates first-hand experience, research, and one-on-one interviews with successful followers of his methods, to create a simple step-by-step guide book for anybody setting up a business in the Events Industry.

In March 2020, the COVID 19 pandemic saw the doors close on the hospitality and event industry and the Gala Tent marketing plan for year was scuppered. However instead of giving up Mace produced an alternative marketing plan to provide product for the emergency services eventually turning the crisis in a positive finishing that year with some growth.
