Mace was invited to the House of Lords 19th May 2014 by Lord Borwick of Hawkshead due to his considerable amount of charity work and took the opportunity to present his ideas to several influential people, including many of the UK's leading entrepreneurs. His presentation included a two-year National Entrepreneurial Service for school leavers, along with ideas and systems of how to bring down unemployment.  

Mace has actively worked on projects with the Peter Jones charity foundation since 2011 mentoring students to develop business skills helping the next generation reach their potential. He is also active in supporting local and international charities donating relief tents for natural disasters such as the Islamic Relief providing temporary shelters in Pakistan and Haiti following the earthquake disasters. He also provides tents for refugees in Africa, feeding the homeless, sponsoring sporting events for disabled serviceman and donations to help for heroes. Every Christmas he supports Rotherham Children's Hospital and provides a Santa's Grotto, Toys and activity packs to entertain children in A&E.

OVER £5,000 has been raised in two days for a four-year-old boy who tragically lost his battle with leukaemia. Jake Croft started to show signs of being unwell just four weeks before he was diagnosed with the disease earlier this month. He had stage four neuroblastoma, a cancerous tumour that develops in nerve tissue, usually just above the kidneys. He sadly passed away on Friday night. Gala Tent Ltd pledged £1,269 to take the family to their £5,000 target.

The tours ran all day and I was kept busy providing Mum and Dad with cups of tea throughout. Outside in the gardens of the house the guests enjoyed home-made cakes from the volunteers of St Margaret's Hospice. Also in the garden were Moor Plants of Ashcott and local handicraft creator Jean Whitlock. Due to the weather a tent was generously loaned to us for the day from Gala Tents, part of the Evercreech-based business, Thompson Support Services.

South Yorkshire based Gala Tent was pleased to be able to support a race night in memory of Sheffield school girl Jasmyn Chan, who lost her life after being tragically killed by a hit and run driver, recently. Gala Tent loaned three event-size gazebos for the fundraiser, held at Hollin Bush Pub, Hollinsend Road, Intake, which attracted hundreds of people and has so far raised over £5,300 towards 14 year old Jasmyn’s funeral costs.

An industrial building in Rotherham has been transformed into an imitation village. It features a Coronation Street type set which includes houses, a park, shops, a pub and some new areas such as a courthouse, an internet cafe and an accident and emergency department. The Lifewise Centre is customised for interactive learning and is run by South Yorkshire Police and South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue where they and other agencies deliver safety advice to the public.

On the 12th and 13th July, Wakefield’s picture perfect country estate house Nostell Priory hosted Fueled Society Car Show for the third year running. The show was a two day event with camping in the priory’s beautiful grounds, and attracted over 4000 people with over 800 cars on show. The cars ranged from classic Rolls Royces and Volkswagens to full on Hot-rods, to slammed super cars.

The Christian and Muslim community joined forces for the first time this Christmas to help the poor and needy. Members of the Huddersfield Methodist Mission and Amadiyyah Muslim community united at the Welcome Centre on Christmas Day to provide food, clothing and tea and coffee to homeless people in Huddersfield. Around 30 people turned up throughout the day, as representatives from both communities were on hand to make soup and pasta, and hot tea and coffee from 1pm to 5.30pm.

A BIG-HITTING boxer from the Merrie City has set his sights on winning a British title after signing forms to turn professional. Andy Townend, from Portobello, will train as a pro under trainer Stefy Bull at Mexborough’s Empress Ballroom gym and will enter the ring for his first pro fight on November 4th 2011. The 22-year-old was hot property during his amateur career, winning the national Golden Belt title at light welterweight and going on to represent England.

Students will benefit from the business experience and expertise of Jason and other mentors throughout the five weeks given to create the product design.
